Tight pursestrings

Ooo, I got one of those "Notice of Intention to Evict" notices today. Heh heh heh. Not the kind of thing you want to come home to. Oh dear me.
Basically, my check bounced. I've never had a check bounce, so I didn't really know what to do. Like I mentioned a few posts back, my truck downpayment of $6000 wasn't really planned and kinda left me with little dough. But enough. Since Otakon was at the beginning of the month, when most bills are due, I made sure to send off my various payments before I went to the con. But in the flurry of activity leading up to the con, I forgot to transfer the necessary monies to my checking account. So when I get back, I notice that the check bounced. Like I said, I didn't know what to do. Do I go pay cash ASAP? Do I wait for the check to come back in the mail? Write another check? Wait for a call? A carrier pigeon? Dunno. So I waited. And the notice showed up today, giving me < 72 hours to pay or get out. I did some quick accounting to make sure I had the funds to pay my rent and the amassed late fees. For about two minutes, I was really sweating, while I thought that I had another $300 in checks that would be drawn from my account immediately. If this happened in the next day, I wouldn't have enough to cover the rent. Thankfully though, those checks had already been cashed, so that crisis has been averted. I was worried I'd have to eat humble pie and ask my parents to bail me out.
Nonetheless, I've got to watch my money for the next couple weeks. I might not be able to go to AnimeFest if things don't turn around quick. I pray it does. If my account doesn't return to the healthy black within a month, then it might mean that buying this truck has left me too close to broke.
