Last night during my idle time at work, I started browsing last year's Dragon*Con galleries. Actually, I'd started off looking for D*C forums to find out what groups are planned, but I still haven't found the motherlode that I'm expecting. Apparently the thousands of D*C cosplayers all stay under the radar?
Anyways, the galleries. Holy moly. At 4 am I was still browsing. I'd been hoping to find inspiration and narrow in on a costume to make, but holy baby Jesus, now I'm even more bewildered and twitterpated. I mean, look, a Mad Max group! Holy crap, how fucking awesome is that?!? They've even got the Humungus! That is so bad-ass. I wish I could've been in a group like that.

Looking at those galleries got me totally fired up, and totally undecided. But after having a day to sleep it off and regain my composure, I think I've come up with a semblance of a plan. So D*C is two months away. Sounds like a lot of time, but for me that means I have just two weeks at home to get anything done. Not much. That's enough time for one easy costume. Captain K'nuckles will be finished quickly enough, so that gives me one costume. I need more for a four-day con like this. I think I'll go ahead and do Satan from Lucy, Daughter of the Devil. I doubt I'll meet any other LDotD cosplayers but that's fine. I think the costume will be fun to wear regardless. (Though I'd love to see a Tequila Sally's Lucy. That mini-sombrero is super cute!) Finding that sweater is gonna be the toughest part.
And to round out the weekend I'll be resurrecting some old costumes. I tell myself it's okay to do so; none of these costumes have been seen at D*C, so it'll be new to them. I'll fix up Slade for the Teen Titans gathering. Maybe bring the joke Spartan if there happens to be a 300 meet-up. I dunno if I want to bother bringing another mascot, be it GIR or Garu. Oh, I can bring Wybie too! I almost forgot him.
Okay, I guess that'll be enough costumes. K'nuckles, Slade, Lucy's Dad, Wybie, and maybe Spartan. I'm glad I'm able to scrounge up enough cosplays. It feels like I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel but it's all I can do for now.
Shit, I'm excited!
