Poop

Tonight was my normal pre-con all-night marathon. Thanks to Star's idea of making a to-do LIST, I was making progress much faster than normal. I was kicking ass, honestly. And then the commission ( broke )

That knocked the wind out of my sails. I feel really rotten about it since I already missed the deadline once and it was sooo close to being done this time. There's no time to fix it, so I've lost my enthusiasm and momentum for the evening. The other three costumes I'm working on are coming along well, but I'm old and I tire quickly, so I'm going to go to bed now. I'll get up early tomorrow and give it one last big shove. Then it's AFest time!

It's amazing, the mess one boob can make*

Item #25 on my AnimeFest To-Do list was: Do laundry. So I threw a couple loads in the wash, plus my Slade costume because he becomes funk-irrific everytime he's worn and needs to be washed after every con. When I came back to load the clothes into the dryer, I open the lid to find a winter wonderland inside the washer! Apparently one of Slade's man boobs exploded and there was stuffing everywhere, not to mention all the clothes in there had tied themselves into one wicked knot. I dunno, I think a gremlin did it or something.
Other than that, I'm still chipping away at this pile of last-minute tasks. I think I'll leave some of the more minor fixes to do at the con; it's a four-day con, I'll be able to find some spare time over the weekend.
Just a couple more hours till I pack up and go! Weee!

Half-assed glue

Where does fabric glue get the nerve to say, "Dries in 24 hours"? Gorilla Glue only takes 4 hours, and it's like the Glue Of The Gods. WTF, fabric glue, you think I'm gonna wait 24 hours for your pansy ass? You need to get off your butt and get to work. Lucky for you that I don't need this costume till tomorrow. Otherwise . . . I'd kick you to the curb. I'll let it slide this time.
