I finally dragged my butt into the Austin office today. Literally 4 minutes after I sent out an office-wide email saying "I'm back and available," Boss #1 comes by and says, "Why don't you take a few days off? Things are real slow around here."
That was a shocker. Usually this guy is always: come in early, leave late, skip lunch, work weekends, holidays, etc. But hell, I didn't need to be told twice. I was outta there!
So I've got the rest of the week off! It's like Spring Break just fell into my lap. I bet y'all can guess what I'm going to do with all that free time. Yup.

But that only takes ten minutes. After that I'll work on cosplay. (Ha ha ha. That was a masturbation joke for those of you who missed it. Heh heh. I find myself so funny.)
So yeah, it's me and the cat here in the apartment. I'm trying to get work done, and she's "helping". Maybe I'll take her for a walk as a reward for being such a good helper.

Happy Meme: Day #1 (Friday 12/05/2008)

I nom-nomed a DOZEN tortillas from Taco Cabana. Those tortillas are so fat and warm and soft . . . *drool* All those carbs probably make me fat and warm and soft too, but let's look at the positive! It definitely made happy in my mouth.

I can't really think of 8 other people who post on a daily basis, so no tags here.

Aside from that, Jim Gaffigan was pretty funny last night. We sat up in the balcony for the first time and I'd been worried our view would suck, but it was actually a good perspective. As Liz may have informed you, he had a new bit about bacon, which I found very applicable to my life, being a fatty American myself. Despite all of his talk about food and being lazy, after the show we still kinda wanted to go be fatties at Waffle House. But we settled on Taco Cabana instead.
Today and tomorrow I'll be focusing on moving my stuff into the new apartment. So that means today will be the 3rd Annual "Running of the Costumes," the rare day when all of my costumes leave the apartment, leading my neighbors to wonder who the hell they've been living next to for the past year.

Tonight we're going to go see Jim Gaffigan at the Paramount. I've been looking forward to this all week. I hear this performance is going to be all-new material, which is cool, but also means that there will be no Hot Pockets. Regardless, Liz and I will both be wearing adult diapers just to be safe.

SPEED POST!

Birthday was last weekend, went to Batman-IMAX, went to BatFest (saw no bats), got Transformers for my Bday (sweet).
Labor Day, worked on cosplay, tested the wings for 1st time, only got them up halfway :( Something's wrong with my math; I don't trust myself anymore.
I'm finally starting to warm up to the Pucca cartoon series; used to be I only liked the flash animations. Sad that Venture Bros is over till next year. Boo. But get to buy Season 3 dvds now. Yay.
Yesterday I got an email about Jim Gaffigan (comedian whose sold-out show I paid alot to get tickets for). Since I'm now on his email list, I'm invited to the pre-sale of the extra show they just added to his schedule. So I could've bought 6 good tickets today for the same amount of money I spent on those 2 mediocre seats. Lame
Tonight, at my apartment by myself. Don't need to tell you what that entails ;) Spent 5 hours to fix the wings and beef up the pulley system. Good news: now the wings open fully, with snap. Bad news: now I think the wings are too strong to be reloaded by just one assistant. Aw suckage. Dunno what to do.

Think I might go to bed tonight in the clothes I plan to wear tomorrow, that way I can sleep till the very last second. I'm pooped and sore.
Night!

I bought tickets for Dave Atell’s October appearance at the Paramount. After going to see Ralphie May (hella funny) a couple months ago I decided I wanted to go see more comedians. Star hasn’t seen any of Dave Atell’s stuff, but I’ve got a couple months to educate her. Hopefully she won’t be put off by him.
While I was looking at the Paramount’s website, I noticed that Jim Gaffigan was also coming to town. Sweet! I KNOW Star likes him (we nearly peed our pants watching his special), so I called her up and asked her if she’d like to see him. Well, duh. I figured if she didn’t like Dave Atell, Jim Gaffigan would make things better. She wants to take a box of HotPockets for him to autograph. That would be funny, but . . . I dunno if he still does that bit; the joke might be out-of-date by now.
So anyways, it wasn’t until after I’d hung up the phone that I found out that all four of Jim Gaffigan’s performances were sold out. Crap. I was kinda surprised. I hadn’t expected him to be such a popular comedian; as far as I know he’s only done one cable special. One of his Austin appearances will be recorded for his next special, which accounts for one show being sold out, but I thought there would still be tickets left for the other three. I wasn’t willing to forfeit this plan, so after a bit of looking around I found a website that had tickets for the show, at a significant mark-up. I wasn’t too pleased about this but I bought them anyways. I know it probably wasn’t the most responsible move considering my upcoming expenses, but I’m an adult so I can have my cake and eat it too. That’s what credit cards are for.
If anyone else is thinking of going to the Dave Atell show, DO IT. Trust me, these shows are super funny and it’d be fun to have more people to go with.

Last night Star and I went to go see Ralphie May at the Paramount Theater. He and the other acts were damned hilarious. It's probably pointless to try and re-tell some of the jokes, so for my curious readers, you'll just have to wait till this performance airs on Comedy Central. I found out that laughing non-stop for three hours straight will give you a headache, but it was worth it. I would've liked to have gone with a group, that's the only thing that I might've changed. Now I'm thinking I want to go see Gabriel Iglesias when he comes to town in a month or so. I really enjoyed going out to see the comedian; I felt like a real adult, doing adult-y stuff.
