The Goldfish's Logbook

Sunglasses are my favorite accessory. Clothes . . . eh, I wear them so I won't be a nekkid monkey; I don't care two bits about style and that crap. The reason I like suncglasses is because they hide my eyes, they let me see without being seen. It's very hard for me to look people directly in the eye, even family members. Heck, looking myself in the mirror is kinda awkward. It's just too confrontational for me to meet their gaze for more than a second at a time. And if my eyes meet someone else's by accident, I look away quickly. If I'm haveing a conversation with someone, my gaze will be wandering around the room or looking at something else, only looking at them maybe 1% of the time.
So when I wear sunglasses, knowing that other people can't . . . pin down my eyes, that makes things easier. Plus, you don't have to school your gaze so much; people can't tell where you're looking. Am I reading my book or checking that girl out? Oh, and they come in handy at work too. As boring as my work is, I have a tendency of dozing off from time to time. Not for very long, only seconds or minutes at a time. But I don't need to be caught sleeping on the job. Oh heavens no! My sunglasses have saved my bacon. I love my sunglasses!
