If I weren't 100% certain that the Transformers movie was going to suck, I might think of cosplaying one for the movie. Ah, I used to be so rabid about Transformers. Unfortunately we (my family) didn't have enough money for any of the good Transformers. Maybe once a month when we'd go to Toys R Us, I'd wrangle a cheap Transformer from my mom. Back then the little ones cost $2.50 each. I remember thinking that was a lot of money back then. I could never get any of the sweeter, larger Transformers like the Dinobots (oh Grimlock!) or any of the gestalt ones. I tried, but never got more than a limb or two. Even with imagination, it's hard to get satisfactory playtime out of a right leg. Oooo, and I had my heart set on Jetfire so bad. But he cost $30 back then, which was an absurd amount of money. To this day, I want that toy above all else. He wasn't plastic like the other Transformers, he was die-cast metal. And even though he was only in one episode from what I remember, he was totally bad-ass in that episode. Buried in the ice, yeah! Ah, but they cost upwards of $300 now on Ebay. I don't give a damn about packaging; I want this toy to play with and show off as a trophy.
I never had more than a handful of Transformers at a time, even though I was into it for years. Money was tight back then, so we had garage sales regularly to scratch together money for bills and groceries. So my toy chest was constantly raided for garage sale merchandise. Not a single Transformer survived. Oh well.
I'll still go see the movie though. I owe them that much.
